Serving Grand Rapids and Northern Minnesota
Eye Fashions Optical Shoppe was established in 1957 by Dr. Peter Gibbons O.D. and in June of 1994 was purchased by Dr. Larry Schlauderaff O.D., who is still the owner.
Dr. Schlauderaff and his staff continue to focus on the optical needs of families. Our goal is to offer you a wide selection of eyeglasses and contacts at very affordable prices, in line with the blue collar attitude of the Iron Range.
You can usually save time and money by seeking ocular care first with a local optometrist instead of your local emergency room.
Minor eye conditions, such as pink eye, eye injuries, or the removal of foreign objects, can usually be handled quickly during a walk-in visit. More serious eye conditions will be referred to the most appropriate specialist.
Dr. Schlauderaff was recently awarded the Helen Keller Sight award from the Lions Club International for his philanthropic approach to eye care. He provides services to elderly shut-ins, nursing homes, and the financially challenged.
By working closely with the Lions Club, Dr. Schlauderaff can be sure that nobody in need goes without eye care, which has been his goal since first becoming an optometrist.
For a down-to-earth, no-pressure optometric experience, Eye Fashions Optical Shoppe is your best choice. Select from a wide assortment of eyeglasses and some designer brand frames, including Jimmy Choo, Carrera, Tura, Ray-Ban, OGI, and many others.
Most insurance plans are accepted, and if we are out of your network, you can self-submit with the office's help. Payment plans are available upon request, which keeps with our philosophy of eye care for all economic levels.
"Nobody should be denied eye care due to financial limitations," says Dr. Schlauderaff.
